Many paints contain additives known as VOC's, "Volatile Organic Compounds". The problem is that VOC's don't stay in the paint, but evaporate as the paint dries and are released into the air. They have been connected with some health and environmental concerns so your apprehension, especially around an infant, is warranted.

Fortunately for our clients, HottAndHandy only uses paint's that are low or no VOC's and low odor. You can find these types of paint at most hardware stores, Just ask for "no VOC's" or organic paints. This is a testament that we are committed to the environment and our clients health.

Save energy and reduce your electricity bill by covering up your air-conditioner. If you can’t remove your window unit, consider covering it both inside and out. Besides protecting your air-conditioning unit, these covers also help keep cold air from entering your home through the space around the air-conditioner and can be a great way to lower utility bills.

Not only do you reduce energy use for the electric company, but you will also save money on your next bill. Each light can save up to 75% of energy use and can last up to 10 times that of an incandescent light bulbs.
